With NC State’s win streak now at four games, the Wolfpack is climbing in the various NCAA tournament field projections, and the latest from ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has the Pack as a No. 9 seed. That puts State well above the at-large cut line and also implies a good bit of cushion between it and the First Four games in Dayton. Good news all around.
The Wolfpack is also up to No. 47 in the RPI and No. 39 in the Pomeroy Ratings. The RPI had been a liability for State much of the season but isn’t any longer, and advanced metrics like the Pomeroy Ratings also support NC State’s candidacy for an at-large bid.
