NC State has done well for itself in the Charlotte area since Dave Doeren was hired. That trend of success continued on Tuesday when Mallard Creek High School defensive tackle Grant Gibson announced his commitment to play for the Wolfpack.

Gibson is a high three-star prospect and the most well regarded player among NC State's four 2017 commitments. Rivals considers him a four-star player and one of top 10 prospects in North Carolina.
