It looks like Wake Forest has us right where they want us. NC State opened as a modest favorite to beat the Deacs in Raleigh on Saturday, picked as about a field goal favorite at most sportsbooks. State being favored in this matchup sure hasn’t meant much lately.
Wake is coming off a 37-13 home loss to Clemson in which the Deacs were outgained by more than 200 yards. Wake managed just 37 rushing yards against that tough Clemson front, while Sam Hartman was a modest 11-21 throwing the ball.
How much of that was the Wake Forest offense showing some cracks and how much was just the Clemson defense doing its typical thing, well, who knows.
