NC State entered the game as a 3.5-point favorite over #21 Virginia today, but the Cavaliers humbled the Wolfpack mightily, cruising to a 76-61 victory in the Lenovo Center.
UVA’s defense stifled NC State in a major way today, holding them to 36% shooting from the field, and 25% from three. The Wolfpack weren’t able to move the ball effectively in the half-court against the Cavaliers defense, except for a small spurt in the 2nd half.
On the other hand, Virginia was able to run their offensive sets with precision. This UVA team whipped the ball around much faster than what we are accustomed to seeing from a Cavaliers team over the past decade.
