As per longstanding tradition, the NC State basketball team is making things as hard on itself as possible, and that means that it will need to win at Boston College on Saturday afternoon just to salvage a .500 league record—and stay in somewhat okayish NCAA tournament position.
A loss tomorrow wouldn’t necessarily be the end of its NCAA hopes, but it would be a pretty bad idea to make the situation more precarious than it already is. But this is very much a loseable game, and we don’t have to look at the first meeting between these two in order to know that much.
