Four-star dual threat quarterback Dakereon Joyner has been down to NC State and South Carolina for a while now—officially, anyway—and on Sunday afternoon made his college announcement. Joyner, who is from South Carolina, announced that he will be a Gamecock.
This was a widely-expected decision from Joyner, who reportedly told both coaching staffs of his decision weeks ago but wanted to wait until Father’s Day to make his decision public. He’s a top-five prospect in the state of South Carolina and the No. 227 overall prospect in the country.
NC State already has a verbal of its own from a 2018 four-star quarterback: Elite 11 finalist Devin Leary, who has been committed to the Wolfpack since early April.
