Virginia Tech and NC State seemingly used up all their offense in the first two games of the ACC series in Blacksburg, but the Wolfpack were able to plate one run late in the game to seal the win. With the win, the Wolfpack have now won all four of their conference series this season, and seven straight dating back to last season. At 9-3 in ACC play (23-5 overall), State maintains their first place position in the ACC Atlantic Division.
Brian Brown turned in an excellent performance on the mound, going six shutout innings, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out four.
