Unsurprisingly, NC State’s win over Boston College this week didn’t move the needle one way or the other in terms of NCAA tournament positioning, which is fine. The important thing was just to avoid tripping up in that game.
Joe Lunardi’s latest bracket projection for ESPN has NC State as an 11-seed playing No. 6 Arizona State in the East. Lunardi has the Wolfpack as one of the last four teams receiving an at-large bye—which is to say, avoiding Dayton. Both Louisville and Syracuse are among Lunardi’s last four in.
The projection for State here is roughly the consensus among the various bracket-guessers on the tubes—Bracket Matrix lists a total of 70 different brackets, and NC State’s average seed is 10.
