Former NC State All-American Shortstop Trea Turner and the Washington Nationals started talking about a contract extension back during Spring Training. Turner has 2 years of arbitration before he is a free agent, but the Nats know they want to build around him, but it will come with a hefty price tag.
“He’s got a bright future,” Mike Rizzo said Sunday. “I know that much. Going to make a lot of money.” (NBC)
Turner is playing the best baseball of his career currently, and he is also one of the best players in all of baseball right now.
