James Madison Transfer Defensive Lineman James Carpenter (6’2″/282) will be taking an Official Visit to NC State this weekend according to a source.
Carpenter started as a walk-0n for the Dukes. He didn’t have a single Division-I offer coming out of Roanoke Catholic High School. Not only did Carpenter go on to earn a scholarship, but he has been 2nd Team All-Sun Belt the past two seasons.
This season, as a Redshirt Junior, Carpenter had 48 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 5 pass breakups, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble and 2 fumble recoveries. In 2022, he had 52 tackles, 11.
