Jayson Tatum picked third by the Boston Celtics in NBA Draft

The 2017 NBA Draft kicked off Thursday night at the Barclays Center in New York with the Philadelphia 76ers taking Washington point guard Markelle Fultz at No. 1. Jayson Tatum was picked third by the Boston Celtics, becoming the first player off the board from a Triangle school, and at least six more players from Duke, North Carolina and N.C. Although Duke was not the dominant team many expected it to be last year, Tatum lived up to his billing as a top-three recruit in the Class of 2016 and is the Blue Devils’ fourth top-three pick in as many years.
