Lavar Batts Jr. has announced that he’ll be transferring from NC State after one season in the program. Batts logged a little over 13 minutes per game as a freshman and averaged 3.7 points per contest.
He was originally a VCU commitment but sought to re-evaluate his options after Will Wade left that program to take the LSU gig. Batts verbally committed to play for Kevin Keatts last April but didn’t become a crucial part of NC State’s rotation and would have been unlikely to do so as a sophomore.
This one has felt like a doomed marriage for a while now, though Batts had his bright spots off the bench.
