Former NC State All-ACC Guard Saniya Rivers shined in her WNBA debut last night for the Connecticut Sun, finishing with 11 points (3-7 FG / 1-2 3PT), 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block off the bench. The Sun might have lost 87-82 to the Las Vegas Aces, but they clearly saw they made a good choice drafting Rivers with the 8th overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, becoming the highest drafted player in NC State history.
Rivers was the second-leading scorer for Connecticut last night. Despite coming off the bench, she played the second-most minutes on the team (25).
