Devan Boykin enters 2023 as NC State’s starting Strong Safety. Boykin is a Junior, but is entering his 4th season on the field. He’s played in 34 games, and isn’t completely new to starting either, starting in 9 games over the past three seasons. Boykin has played in 905 snaps, recording 63 tackles, 6 pass breakups and 1 interception
Boykin is filling the void that Cyrus Fagan left at the Strong Safety position. You might remember last year when he sealed the deal against Florida State, putting the game away via an interception with 38 seconds left on the clock.
