Dave Doeren Wins 50th Game at NC State, Moves into 3rd All-Time

Dave Doeren won his 50th game as NC State’s head football coach today, leading the Pack to a 38-21 victory over Virginia on the road. The win moves him into 3rd all-time in school history, breaking a tie with Chuck Amato.

  1. Earle Edwards – 17 years (1954-70) – 77-88-8
  2. Dick Sheridan – 7 years (1986-92) – 52-29-3
  3. Dave Doeren – 8th season (2013-20) – 50-43
  4. Chuck Amato – 7 years (2000-06) – 49-37

Doeren has had his detractors through the years, and heading into this season many pundits projected him to be the coach in the ACC most likely to be on the “hot seat” at seasons end, but a 3-1 start by NC State in 2020 has hushed the critics.
