Former NC State All-American pitcher Carlos Rodon picked up the starting nod on opening day for the Chicago White Sox yesterday, and despite a solid showing, he walked away with the loss.
Rodon pitched 5.1 innings, gave up 3 hits and 2 earned runs (3 runs), while striking out 6, and walking only 1 batter.
Ultimately Chicago fell to Kansas City 5-3.
“It was an OK game; I just wish I could have gone six or seven for the boys, but at the end, we made a nice little run,’’ Rodon said. “We showed some fight, so that was nice to see.
