Big Ten, Pac-12 cancel fall football seasons

As was anticipated over the last couple of days, neither the Big Ten nor the Pac-12 will be playing college football this fall. The Big Ten made its decision first, and league officials are going to explore a spring season. The Pac-12’s move was bit different, as it postponed all league sports through Jan. 1—which is to say that its decision also affects basketball.

So two of the five power-conferences are sitting out the fall football season for sure, while the Pac-12 basically just shut down the non-conference portion of its basketball season.

Meanwhile, the Big 12, SEC, and ACC football seasons are still on the board, at least officially.
