Alim McNeill, four-star defensive back from Sanderson, commits to NC State football program | News & Observer

Alim McNeill had offers from all over the country, but the 4-star athlete isn’t leaving the Triangle.

McNeill, a senior at Sanderson High School, announced Saturday that he plans to attend N.C. State, turning down offers from schools such as Clemson, Florida State, Michigan and Penn State, among several others. The Wolfpack, Virginia Tech and Michigan were the final three schools on his list. Alabama made a late offer to McNeill Saturday morning.

McNeill will also be playing in the US Army All-American Game, Jan. 18 in San Antonio.

According to 247 sports, McNeill is the ninth-best defensive tackle in the nation, though his high school position is middle linebacker, and the eighth best player in the state.
