Stephen Igoe of 247Sports ranked the ACC Football coaches heading into the 2019 season, and NC State head coach Dave Doeren ranked 4th on the list.
Don’t look now, but Doeren has quietly built NC State into a consistent 7-9 win program annually. If not for Clemson being in its own division, the Wolfpack would likely have at least an ACC championship game appearance or two by now. Since going 3-9 in a challenging Year 1 in Raleigh, Doeren has rattled off win totals of eight, seven, seven, nine and nine the last five seasons to run his record at NC State to 43-34.
