The internet has become an essential part of our daily lives, and it is hard to imagine a world without it. Guinea, a West African country, has not been left behind in the internet revolution. However, the history of internet in Guinea is not as long as in other parts of the world.

The first internet connection in Guinea was established in 1996, but it was not until 2000 that the government allowed private companies to provide internet services. At the time, the internet was only available to a few people, mainly those in the government and business community.
