The Ethical Considerations of AI in Deep Brain Stimulation

As technology continues to advance, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical treatments is becoming more common. One area where AI is being utilized is in deep brain stimulation (DBS), a treatment for conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and depression. While the use of AI in DBS has the potential to greatly improve patient outcomes, it also raises important ethical considerations.

One of the primary ethical concerns with AI in DBS is the issue of informed consent. Patients undergoing DBS must be fully informed of the risks and benefits of the procedure, as well as the potential outcomes.
