For the Tampa Bay Lightning, their big defenseman, who was voted best defenseman in the NHL by the players association, Victor Hedman, is representing his native country for Tampa Bay. Anton Stralman is also Swedish on the Lightning’s side, but he is an unrestricted free agent at season’s end, and they may not be able to afford him.
As for the Sabres, their recent first overall draft pick Rasmus Dahlin is Swedish, as well as Rasmus Ristolainen, Lawrence Pilut, and Alexander Nylander.
