St. Louis Blues reward GM Doug Armstrong with a well deserved five-year extension

Winning a Stanley Cup truly has its rewards. St. Louis Blues general manager Doug Armstrong signed a five-year extension with the team on Saturday.

The deal keeps the 57-year-old Armstrong under contract with the club through the 2026-27 season.

Armstrong, who built the team that won the franchise’s first Stanley Cup in 2019, is entering his 12th season as GM of the Blues.

“It starts and stops with the players,” he said after signing. “We’ve been fortunate to have a lot of great players here that take a lot of pride in wearing the Blue Note.
