The Seattle Kraken have been very wise to hold off on naming coach. That’s paid off as Claude Julien has become available since the Canadiens let him go.

There is no doubt in my mind that at least a handful of current coaches in the NHL will be available at the end of the season. To me, none bigger than possibly John Tortorella in Columbus.
A report has surfaced that the Blue Jackets didn’t extend him due to cash constraints. That could play into Seattle’s favor come the summer.
