A Japanese city is set to revolutionize its administrative tasks by using an AI chatbot. The city of Fukuoka, located in the southern part of Japan, will be implementing the AI chatbot in its city hall to assist with administrative tasks such as issuing certificates and answering inquiries.

The AI chatbot, named “Robotic Intelligent Chat Assistant” or RICA for short, was developed by the city’s government in collaboration with NTT Communications, a Japanese telecommunications company. RICA is equipped with natural language processing technology, allowing it to understand and respond to inquiries in Japanese.

The implementation of RICA is expected to streamline administrative tasks and reduce the workload of city hall employees.
