Internet in Cameroon

Related Topics: Cameroon, Internet

Cameroon, a country located in Central Africa, has experienced a significant growth in internet penetration in recent years. According to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), internet penetration in Cameroon increased from 6.2% in 2010 to 23.1% in 2019. This growth can be attributed to various factors, including government policies, private sector investments, and the increasing availability of affordable smartphones.

One of the key drivers of internet penetration in Cameroon is the government’s efforts to improve the country’s ICT infrastructure. In 2013, the government launched the National Broadband Network (NBN), a project aimed at providing high-speed internet connectivity to all regions of the country.
