Photobiomodulation (PBM Therapy) previously known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is the application of red and near infra-red light over injuries or lesions to improve wound and soft tissue healing, reduce inflammation and give relief for both acute and chronic pain.
Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a modulation of laser irradiation, monochromatic light, hot color light such as red, orange or yellow, or cold color light such as green, blue or violet (LI) on biosystems.
The current clinical uses are for the relief of pain and inflammation and the treatment of sports injuries. PBMT devices have been approved by the FDA to stimulate hair growth and decrease fat deposits.
