The series started with home ice advantage in Estero, FL on May 10th. It was the first meeting between the two teams since the start of the 2018-19 regular season, and would quickly become the standard to which the series would fall into. The series started with a 2-0 shutout of the ‘Blades, followed by a disastrous 5-1 defeat at home before the series moved to St. Johns. Game 3 would prove the only time the ‘Blades managed to garner a win in the series against Newfoundland, a 5-4 win that would spur the Growlers resolve. Game 4, fraught with questionable officiating (something that seems to be prevalent everywhere), lead to a 6-0 shutout.
