Never mind the Team Europe moniker, when it comes to next fall's World Cup of Hockey, organizers might have to simply rename the squad Team World, given the multinational makeup of the management team, coaching staff and scouting staff.
Led by the head of the German Ice Hockey Federation, Franz Reindl, who is Team Europe president, and Miroslav Satan, the former captain of the Slovak national team who is general manager, Team Europe named Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice, a Canadian, as assistant coach to Ralph Krueger, another Canadian who was previously appointed head coach of Team Europe.
