Who Is in The NFL MVP Race This Season?

The race for the MVP Award in the NFL this season is going to be exciting over the last couple of months of the campaign. There is a nice mix of former winners and new candidates this year.

Here is a look at who is leading the battle for the most prestigious individual award in the sport.

Tom Brady

Five-time MVP Tom Brady is showing no signs of declining at the age of 44. He led his side to the Super Bowl last season, winning the Super Bowl MVP prize in the game.

Brady leads the league this season with 3,771 passing yards following his opening 12 games of the campaign. He has recorded 34 passing touchdowns, which puts him in with a chance of beating his personal best of 50 in a season.

Despite already having won the Super Bowl seven times, Brady still has a powerful motivation to win the championship game in the NFL. If he continues with the numbers, he is averaging at the moment; he is likely to win the MVP award once again.

Aaron Rodgers
Reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers has picked up where he left off last season. Although his numbers don’t quite match those of Brady, the Green Bay Packers QB has been instrumental in his team going 8-2 through their opening 10 games.

This could be the last season Rodgers has in Green Bay. He has been linked with a move away from the franchise he has been at since he was drafted in 2005. If it proves to be his final year in Wisconsin, he will be hoping to win individual and team honors.

Rodgers and the Packers are +700 to win the Super Bowl this season with the best online sportsbooks legal in New Jersey. Those looking to back the NFC North side may even be able to pick up a free bet for signing up to a new account. There is likely to be a lot of interest in Green Bay with NFL bettors, given how well the QB is playing.

Kyler Murray
The 2019 NFL Draft number one overall pick has impressed in each of the three seasons he has featured in the league. Murray is operating with a quarterback rating of 112.2. He has made 19 passing and five rushing touchdowns.

Murray is a quarterback who is so difficult to defend against. Once he breaks out of the pocket, he is sharp on his feet. The former Oklahoma QB is establishing himself as one of the best in the NFL in his position.

Arizona Cardinals have the best record in the NFL after 12 games. They are 10-2 which gives them an excellent chance of sealing the number one seed in the NFC. Murray has had to miss some games through injury this season, however, that should not impact his MVP chances too much.

All three quarterbacks will look to raise their game in the last stretch of the regular season. Whoever can do that the best, is likely to win the award at the NFL Honors in February.
