Van Miller, Longtime Radio Voice of Buffalo Bills, Dies at 87

Van Miller, the voice of the Buffalo Bills from the team’s earliest days in the American Football League, died on July 17. He was 87.

The Bills’ president, Russ Brandon, announced the death.

Mr. Miller, who was awarded the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award by the Pro Football Hall of Fame, was known for his deep knowledge of sports, his comic timing in the booth and his signature calls: “Fasten your seatbelts!” “Do you believe it?” “It is fan-demonium!” (later “Van-demonium”) and, at halftime, “That’s only the half of it.”
