The Return of Vintage JPP, Tyrod Taylor’s Make or Break Year, the Denver Backfield and the Seahawks O-Line

“I was shocked [how well Pierre-Paul played]. He made a lot of plays, and he was still really disruptive with that big club […] The sky's the limit now.”

Speaking to NJ Advanced Media, new Giants defensive line coach Jeff Zgonina (a name I just learned how to pronounce) sounded downright giddy over Jason Pierre-Paul. He has good reason to be. Perhaps you look at JPP’s one-sack output in 2015 and think he’s done. But (1) Assessing a pass rusher based solely on sack numbers is downright un-American, and (2) Pierre-Paul will reportedly shed “the club,” which cost him a handful of sacks last year, and have a more functional right hand this season.
