The Buccaneers have lost two of their past three games, but Jameis Winston is playing better football, throwing eight touchdowns to only one interception in the stretch since their bye while completing 60.6 percent of his passes.
Winston’s overall passer rating in 2016, though, is only 1.2 points higher than his rookie campaign, as the Bucs want to see him continute to ascend as the year goes on.
The former No. 1 pick said he is trying to simplify things when it comes to protecting the football.
“You know, just throwing it to the guy with my jersey on, trying to keep things simple,” he said on a conference call about avoiding turnovers.
