Tampa Bay Buccaneers place RB Charles Sims (knee) on injured reserve

The Buccaneers have placed backup running back Charles Sims on injured reserve with a knee injury just hours before the team kicks off versus the Panthers on 'Monday Night Football'.

Sims, 26, suffered the injury during the team's loss to the Broncos and had missed all week of practice. In four games, Sims has 116 yards on 41 attempts, plus a touchdown, this season.

Jacquizz Rodgers, who signed shortly after getting waived by the Bears in September, figures to get the bulk of reps for the league's 27th-ranked rushing attack Monday night with Sims on the shelf.
