Source: Patriots, Edelman reach 2-year extension

The New England Patriots have signed star receiver Julian Edelman to a two-year contract extension Tuesday, according to ESPN and multiple reports.

The deal is worth up to $19 million in new money and will pay $12 million in guaranteed money, including an $8 million signing bonus, a source told ESPN's Mike Reiss.

The extension was first reported Tuesday by NFL Network.

Edelman, 32, has three Super Bowl rings with the Patriots, and was MVP of this year's game, with 10 catches for 141 yards in the victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
