Shaq Thompson Sued by Ex-Duke QB Anthony Boone over Car Accident

Former Duke quarterback Anthony Boone is seeking $25,000 in damages in a lawsuit against Carolina Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson stemming from a 2016 auto accident.

According to ESPN.com's David Newton and Bob Pockrass, a vehicle driven by Thompson collided head-on with the vehicle operated by Boone on May 22, 2016.

Thompson said he lost control while trying to retrieve his cellphone after it fell on the floor. Boone was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

Boone is hoping to be reimbursed for injuries and lost wages, as he has not played football since suffering "a broken hip, damage to the tendons and ligaments in his hand and injuries to the ribs" in the accident, per Newton and Pockrass.
