On Thursday, the Colts added cornerback Tevin Mitchel on waivers, releasing safety Robert Smith to create a roster spot.
On Friday, the Seahawks snatched Smith on waivers.
The Seahawks have announced that Smith is in and safety Ty Zimmerman is out. By claiming Smith on waivers, the Seahawks had dibs over only one other team — the Patriots.
It’s likely only a matter of time before Smith is gone, too. Whether it’s via the reduction of the roster from 90 to 53 or the return of holdout safety Kam Chancellor, Smith will likely be back on waivers before too long.
