Houston Texans running back Arian Foster recently sustained a season-shortening groin injury, leaving a major hole on the team’s roster.
But according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans plan to sign Pierre Thomas, who was perhaps the best replacement available.

Houston chose Thomas over a handful of other candidates. Chris Johnson, Steven Jackson, Ray Rice and Ben Tate were names floated as potential short-term signings.
