Report: ‘Highly unlikely’ Patriots attempt to recoup draft picks

After Tom Brady had his four-game suspension wiped away Thursday, there was speculation as to whether his team would attempt to do the same with its own Deflategate punishment.

According to one report, it will not.

The chances of the New England Patriots attempting to recoup the two draft picks (a first-rounder and a fourth-rounder) and the $1 million fine it was docked as a result of the NFL’s investigation are “extremely remote,” CSNNE’s Tom E. Curran reported Thursday, citing a source “very high in the organization.”

“To go back on that now would really cast (Patriots owner) Robert Kraft as someone going back on his word,” Curran wrote, via CSNNE.
