It appears Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is progressing to eventually return to game action, but it will reportedly have to wait another week.
Despite his availability hinging on the coaching staff's decision – not medical – Romo is not expected to be active on Sunday versus the Steelers, per ESPN's Adam Schefter and Adam Caplan. Pittsburgh (4-4) is riding a three-game losing streak heading into the game.
Romo has been cleared to practice, and participated fully the past few days. Up to this point, the 36-year-old was limited in his participation in practice since missing the past nine weeks while recovering from a compression fracture in his back during preseason.
