Redskins starter Niles Paul suffers dislocated ankle

Just days after being named the team's starter, Redskins tight end Niles Paul was carted off the field Thursday with a dislocated left ankle, a source informed of the injury told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

Paul is set to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury to the ligaments, Rapoport reported.

The team immediately put an air cast on his ankle before Paul left the field in the first quarter of the team's preseason opener against Cleveland.

Paul, known as a hard worker and versatile talent, was playing ahead of Jordan Reed.
