Rayfield Wright, Cowboys’ Hall of Fame Lineman, Dies at 76

He was an All-Pro right tackle in the 1970s. But in retirement he was diagnosed with dementia, which he linked to repeated hits to the head.

Rayfield Wright, a tough, agile Hall of Fame offensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys who was on five Super Bowl teams in the 1970s, then suffered from dementia for at least a decade, which he believed was most likely caused by repeated blows to the head, died on Thursday.
