LOS ANGELES -- Rams cornerback Jaylen Watson will need shoulder surgery and be out for the rest of the season, coach Sean McVay said Wednesday.
Watson left the Rams' Week 8 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers after aggravating a previous shoulder injury. Watson dislocated his shoulder in Week 3 and sat out the following week.
McVay said though Watson wanted to play through the injury, the team was told "the likelihood of it coming out and doing further damage to it is a very high probability."
McVay said Watson, who signed a three-year, $51 million contract with the Rams in March has been "everything and that much more than we had hoped.
