Pierre Thomas has been a valuable running back for eight years in New Orleans. Now, the 30-year-old is bringing that talent to the Houston Texans.
According to Mark Berman of Fox 26, the Texans intend to sign the 30-year-old veteran in the wake of starter Arian Foster suffering a groin injury that is expected to require surgery.
Head coach Bill O'Brien held tryouts for what will be an open spot on his roster, and Thomas was ultimately able to beat out former New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs running back Joe McKnight, as well as former Texas A&M standout Ben Malena, per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.
