NFL to better police fumble scrums

As the football-following world continues to wait for the NFL to finalize new rules for the handling of footballs in the wake of #DeflateGate, the NFL will have a new approach to the process of attempting to get a handle on footballs that were mishandled.

NFL V.P. of officiating Dean Blandino tells John Kryk of the Toronto Sun that the league will pay close attention to the manner in which players remove opponents from fumble scrums. Per Kryk, Blandino says the league will “strictly enforce” a prohibition on the yanking of players from these pile ups.
