The struggling Green Bay Packers ran into a buzz-saw in the first half of play against the Tennesee Titans. Marcus Mariota, the Titans’ first-round pick last season, ended the first half with a perfect quarterback rating and a 35-16 lead over Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
Mariota completed 12 of 16 passes for 216 yards and 3 touchdowns. Mariota received some help from his running back, DeMarco Murray, who threw his own touchdown pass and scored on a 75-yard run. The Titans’ 35 points is the most points scored in a first half in the N.F.L. this season.
