NFL Playoffs: Steelers Kicker Sets Playoff Record With 6 Field Goals

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been known for being somewhat averse to place-kickers in the Mike Tomlin era, but in this divisional round matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, all of the team’s scoring has come off of Chris Boswell’s right foot. With nearly 10 minutes left to play, Boswell has set a new N.F.L. postseason record for field goals in a game, with six, and thanks to him the Steelers are leading the Chiefs, 18-10.

It has been an awkward game for the Pittsburgh offense, with things repeatedly stalling out on the Chiefs’ side of the field, but Le’Veon Bell has continually gotten the team into Boswell’s range by showing off exactly why he compared himself to Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors.
