The NFL has announced that its official Twitter account was hacked Tuesday.
A tweet was posted on the NFL's Twitter page Tuesday afternoon that commissioner Roger Goodell had died. The tweet was deleted, however, minutes after it was posted.
Brian McCarthy, the league's vice president of communications, confirmed on his owner Twitter page that the league's account was hacked and said that Goodell "is alive and well."
Shortly after the original tweet about Goodell was deleted from the league's official account, two other tweets were posted on the page.
