NFL clears three players named in Al Jazeera PED report

The NFL has found no evidence that Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers and James Harrison used performance enhancing drugs, the league announced Wednesday.

The three players were under investigation after their names were linked to human growth hormone use in an Al Jazeera documentary released last year. Peyton Manning, who was also named in the report, was cleared by the NFL last month. The fifth NFL player named in the report is free-agent linebacker Mike Neal, whose case remains under review.

The NFL had threatened to suspend the players if they did not cooperate with the league investigation by participating in interviews.
