The story of the Vikings' defensive backs revolting against Mike Zimmer keeps getting stranger.
According to an NFL.com report Monday, Terence Newman, not Xavier Rhodes, initiated the noncompliance, stemming from Zimmer instructing Rhodes to follow Jordy Nelson on both boundaries in Saturday's 38-25 stomping by Green Bay before Newman told Rhodes to stick to his side of the field.
Rhodes apparently listened to his veteran teammate, not his coach, staying on the right side for the first two series while Nelson roasted the rest of the secondary. Apparently, once he caught wind of Newman's rogue behavior, Zimmer sat the veteran for the Packers' third series, when Rhodes began shadowing Green Bay's No.
